In the present context of the world of information science, technology (IST) and communication, the powerful tool has been proved to change the multi-disciplinary ideas and vision towards the goal of prosperity and hapiness of the people. The power of knowledge in IST has governed the concept of our day to day life and has focused towards the civilized concept and wisdom of power of knowledge which proved as the boon to the present society. So that, variety of the socio-economic environment and the life style of the people could be upgraded towards the civilized knowledgable realities with powerful tools of cybermetrics and informetrics. Realizing this point,Center for Nepal Information Science and Technology(CIST) has been emerged to play the role and motivate our users in this present context of IST of this global knowledge of Science and Technology Information(STI) In other word,CIST has the motto of helping hands of the IST system to facilitate and fulfilling the needs and demands of the broard users' community, using virtual online information system.

This is also a consortium of the Information communication Techonology (IST) knowledge based system in this region. The concepts of the new inventions and discoveries of the tools of IST are powerful medias and techniques that are also making awareness of the life style of the country people in the present situation.
Major goal of CIST is to bridge the gap between the rich information sources and the broad knowledge based, end users which are isolated from the new and modern information system. Amazing techniques of information, science, technology, communication and networking are evolving in our day to day life. The purpose of CIST is to share and use information and bridge the gap among STI researchers and other diverse use of disciplinarians who need intellectual users in the country side.

Major objectives and functions
a) Being a nonprofit organization, CIST will facilitate for developing database packages using new and modern information technologies, creating, manazing and making awareness of knowledge based users' communities for countryside development. CIST helps the Government & People for developing E.Governance for nation development.
b) Facilitate IST& ICT(Information & communication Technology) for research and development activities and function as an online telecentre,as ritual knowledge center.
c) Disseminate and provide facilities towards the new& modern discoveries and inventions of the information technologies and serve the users of the different communities for national development.
d) Facilitate information science and technology for the rural people and Standardise data base format in the national level.
e) The empowerment of the information science and technology for national development.
f) Develop IST & ICT packages for different knowledge based organizations in the country.
g) Support and contribute for poverty elevation in the national level, so to narrow the gap of digitalized divide among the rich information & poor. read more.....
